My second factsheet is here and it’s about the origins of money

These factsheets are part of my ongoing mission to make Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) more accessible. Whether you’re just starting to explore MMT or looking to dive deeper, these factsheets aim to break down complex ideas in concise, simple, digestible ways. As well as reading the factsheets in my regular newsletter format, you can download them as PDF documents.

My regular newsletters and podcasts are available to all subscribers. I hope it’s clear from reading and listening to them that I put a lot of time and thought into making them the best they can be. However, what I’ve found is that reducing complex ideas into these shorter, condensed factsheets is a whole different challenge. I aim to make each topic easy to understand for people who aren’t economists, as well as those who already know a lot about economics — without diluting the ideas themselves.

You’ll find the text of this factsheet below this introductory section, and it’s also available as a downloadable PDF. As a subscriber, you will have access to all of my factsheets, which over time will build into an invaluable and accessible MMT information resource.

In Factsheet 2, I cover the topic ‘The Origins of Money’.

Thanks!

Once gain, I say thank you for supporting my work! Your backing is what keeps me writing, podcasting and spreading the word about MMT. If you’re not yet a paid subscriber but want access to these factsheets, you can upgrade your subscription.

Thanks again for being part of this journey. if you are already a paid subscriber, please give me your feedback on the factsheet format and how often I should send them out. Also please send me a list of the topics you would like me to cover.

I will of course continue to write my weekly articles and provide my monthly podcast with leading MMT economists. Thanks again. :-)

All the best,

Jim
