Factsheet 1: Currency Issuers vs. Currency Users
My series of Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) factsheets is now free - previously available only to paid subscribers.
I’m excited to share something new with you! As part of my ongoing work to make Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) more accessible and clear I’m be launching a regular series of MMT Factsheets.
The text of the first factsheet is at the foot of this introduction and is also available as a downloadable PDF. In ‘Factsheet 1’, as you might expect, I cover the topic ‘Currency Issuers vs. Currency Users’. Over time, these factsheets will cover all the major MMT topics, creating a valuable go-to resource for understanding and sharing MMT ideas. I will be adding a dedicated navigation link on my Substack homepage where, as the factsheets ‘pile up’ over time, paid subscribers can easily find all the factsheets alongside other exclusive content.
Each factsheet will focus on a key MMT topic, breaking it down into a simple, structured format:
A clear summary of the concept.
A straightforward explanation.
Common myths – and why they’re wrong.
Key takeaways summarising the essentials.
These factsheets are exclusive to paid subscribers and are sent out as an additional newsletter. Become a paid subscriber to get access to all of my MMT Factsheets and more.
Thanks!
Thank you for supporting my work! Your backing is what keeps me writing, podcasting and spreading the word about Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) - a branch of economics that seeks to understand the mechanics of the monetary system by looking at what is happening in the real world: not just by sitting in an academic office thinking about it must work. If you’re not yet a paid subscriber you can support my work by, upgrading your subscription.
Thanks again for being part of this journey. Please tell me what I can do to help you learn about economics and Modern Monetary Theory.
Thanks. :-)
All the best,
Jim
