In my third MMT101 workshop, the topic I will be covering is Inflation.
These workshops are about building a solid framework for understanding the MMT approach to the monetary system and the macroeconomy.
It wouldn’t be far off the mark to say that when we say MMT, critics hear ‘I’m recommending unlimited spending and I don’t care if it causes inflation’.
Critics use inflation as the default way to shut down conversations about government spending. So, it’s clearly a topic we need to feel confident about. By the end of this workshop you will have the ideas, the content and the skills to back up that confidence.
In the workshop I will touch on the following:
How do we define inflation?
What are the actual causes?
Why do we need a sectoral approach?
How does the Job Guarantee act as a price anchor?
These workshops are a safe space to learn and ask questions. This will be a relaxed, interactive session. No prior knowledge is needed.
The workshops are for paid subscribers only. Become a paid subscriber if you’d like to join the workshop.
You will take away all of the materials I use in the workshop: documents, presentation slides, mind maps, whatever I use on the day.
I’ll send the Zoom link closer to the time.
Date: Tuesday 8th September
Time: 8pm UK / 3pm Eastern / 12 noon Pacific (I’m open to suggestions about the best time)
Place: Zoom video chat
I’m looking forward to meeting you and having the pleasure of your company. :-)
To all of my subscribers: thank you for your support.
Jim
